RBH Hydrotherapy Pool
Securing a future for the RBH Hydrotherapy Pool

Alok will continue to work with the stakeholders group, the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, local Clinical Commissioning Groups and other partners to find a long-term alternative solution for a hydrotherapy facility that supports both the needs of the users and the Royal Berkshire Hospitals’ clinical strategy.

Green Park Station

Plans for a new station at Green Park in Reading are underway.

Tackling unauthorised encampments in west Reading

Alok continues to liaise with both the police and the Council as and when these encampments occur and will also continue to press the Council to secure those areas that continue to be affected.

Securing future for Circuit Lane Surgery

In September 2014, five GPs running Circuit Lane Surgery in Southcote tendered their resignation and gave notice that they would end their contract for providing services in January 2015. Circuit Lane Surgery is now run by healthcare provider OneMedicalGroup.

Justice for John Morland and Kris Jarvis

I am pleased that the government are listening carefully to the argument for needing tougher sentences for those who kill through dangerous driving and I will continue to work with Tracey and Hayley to change the law so that sentences properly reflect the crime committed

Public meetings held with Thames Valley Police

In order to better understand the concerns of residents of policing issues, Alok is organising a series of public meetings across the Reading West constituency with senior officers from Thames Valley Police.

Tackling overcrowding on trains

Alok has been campaigning for additional capacity on Reading trains to help ease overcrowding.

Bringing Superfast Broadband to Reading

Alok continues to campaign for Superfast Broadband provision in Reading West.

Supporting Heathrow Airport

Alok will continue to support Heathrow Airport and the jobs and investment it brings to Reading.

Tackling potholes in Reading West

Alok continues to assist constituents who raise concerns about potholes and press the relevant council when work needs to be carried out.

No to Pincents Hill Development

Alok continues to support local residents and the Save Calcot Action Group and local Councillors to protect Pincents Hill and retain Pincents Hill as a community amenity.
