Visiting Parliament

Watch a Debate

When Parliament is in session, UK residents and overseas visitors may watch debates for free on current issues or proposed new laws in both Houses of Parliament by visiting the public galleries. Free entry to the public galleries is available on a first-come-first-served basis.

Prime Ministers Questions

MPs are allocated a very limited number of tickets which guarantee entry to the public gallery to watch Question Time, including Prime Ministers Questions (PMQs). Unfortunately tickets for PMQs are extremely limited and there is always a waiting list of constituents who have requested tickets. However, if you would like to be considered for tickets then please do email alok.sharma.mp@parliament.uk

Free Tours of Parliament

Free tours of Parliament are available on weekdays when Parliament is in session by booking through your MP.

However, times are limited and consequently there is a great deal of demand for tours and you should therefore make arrangements well in advance – at least two to three months ahead – and should be as flexible as possible in choice of date.

To book a tour please email alok.sharma.mp@parliament.uk

Buy tickets

Tickets for tours are also available to visitors from the UK and overseas to purchase on Saturdays throughout the year and on most weekdays during Parliamentary recesses including Summer, Conference, Christmas and Easter. More information is available by visiting here: www.parliament.uk/visiting.

Big Ben and Elizabeth Tower Tours

Alok can sponsor tours of Parliament’s famous clock tower, often referred to as ‘Big Ben’. These tours are free, but are extremely limited and are chosen by ballot. Tours are generally fully booked 6 months in advance.

Please note: children under 11 are not permitted on Elizabeth Tower tours.

School groups

Schools visits to Parliament can be arranged via the Parliamentary Education Service. Tours can also be arranged by Alok, but please note times are limited and so please be as flexible as possible when considering times and dates.

Parliamentary duties permitting, Alok will make every effort to meet school groups visiting Parliament so please do email alok.sharma.mp@parliament if you have booked a visit using the Parliamentary Education Service.
