Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament for Reading West, together with West Berkshire district councillor Pamela Bale, will be holding a public meeting for residents in Pangbourne to receive advice on flood insurance.
The meeting will be held at Pangbourne Village Hall from 11.30am to 1pm on Saturday 11th May.
The meeting is being held as a follow up to a public meeting on flooding held on Tuesday 2nd April 2013, together with West Berkshire Council and the Environment Agency, after residents expressed specific concerns about obtaining affordable home insurance and protection.
Attending the meeting along with Alok, will be Heather Shepherd, Community and Recovery Support Manager at the National Flood Forum, Matt Cullen, Policy Adviser - Flooding and Climate Change for the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and representatives from the Environment Agency and West Berkshire Council.
Alok Sharma said: “Feedback from the last meeting held in Pangbourne highlighted home insurance and protection as one of the key area of concern for local people, therefore Councillor Pamela Bale and I have organised a follow-up meeting for local residents.”
