Flood survey delivered to all households in Purley ward

22nd May 2013

Alok Sharma, the Member of Parliament of Parliament, has written to every household in Purley ward with a flood survey, fulfilling a promise made during a public meeting on Thursday 7 March 2013 on flooding in Purley.

The Environment Agency, West Berkshire Council and Purley Parish Council have all provided input towards the questions in the survey, which will be used to help West Berkshire Council and the Environment Agency improve their response to flood risk issues.

The letter to residents also included information from the Environment Agency detailing all of the action points being taken in relation to Purley and the timescale for each of the works being implemented, along with an overview of the river and groundwater flooding issues affecting Purley and sources of further help and advice.

In addition, residents were provided with information from West Berkshire Council relating to bus services at times of flooding.

The survey can be completed online here.
